Worker airlifted after a 30 foot palm tree falls, during strong winds

Harris County, TX:  Cypress Creek EMS & Spring Fire Department responded to the Big Tex Tree Nursery on Wednesday April 8th after they received reports of a person trapped underneath a 30 foot palm tree.  Cypress Creek EMS was the first to arrive on the scene, they found a construction worker who had been struck by a 30 foot palm tree.

He was not trapped, he was struck by the tree as it fell.  We are experiencing high winds today, so that could be a contributing factor.

The construction worker was airlifted by Memorial Hermann Life Flight and transported to the Houston Medical Center.

The Spring Fire Department reports that they did not have any difficulties extricating the patient.
