Water in South Montgomery County Tests Positive for E. Coli, Officials say

Spring, Texas – February 1, 2019: A water well in South Montgomery County was taken offline after water samples tested positive for E. coli, officials say.
Samples taken from groundwater well #1 in Montgomery County Municipal Utility District #119 on Tuesday displayed fecal indicators in the raw water sample, suggesting the water could likely be contaminated by human or animal waste.
The district says that it is not necessary to boil your water as well #1 has been taken offline and clean water is being distributed by well #2.
Homes and businesses affected include areas south of Rayford Road, south of the Grand Parkway, Harmony subdivision and part of the Spring Trails subdivision, including Broadway Elementary School. A complete map can be found below.
Officials say that corrective actions are being taken by the district and additional testing is being performed.
The district says they will verify the water well is safe to drink before it is brought back online.
