Historical Marker Stolen from Wunsche Bros. Cafe in Old Town Spring
Spring, Texas – November 13th, 2017: A historical marker belonging to the iconic Wunsche Bros. Cafe was stolen overnight from the side of their building in Old Town Spring.
Back in February, Spring Happenings published a story announcing that the famous restaurant was purchased by the Kosh Family after suffering a devastating fire back in March 2015. The Kosh Family, owners of the fine dining restaurant Amerigo’s Grille in The Woodlands, are currently restoring the Wunsche Bros. Cafe back to its original.
The marker was awarded to the historic Spring cafe during the 1980s designating it as a historical landmark. The owners of the cafe told Spring Happenings that they would like to have the historical marker returned with the offer of no repercussion or penalty. The marker has been a significant piece of the building for decades and the owners would like to have it returned as soon as possible.
If you or anyone you know has information as to the whereabouts of this item please contact Spring Happenings.
