Spring Texas -October 4th, 2017: Tropical Depression #16 has formed in the far southwestern Caribbean Sea. It is forecast to become Hurricane Nate this weekend once it reaches the central Gulf of Mexico. The latest model guidance is pointing towards potential impacts along the northern or northeastern Gulf coast late weekend into early next week.
At the time of this posting, forecast models show a potential impact from Louisiana to Florida. There is NO current threat to Texas or the Houston area.
Residents are encouraged to remain cognizant of weather as Hurricane Season runs through November 30th.
