Spring, Texas – Three motorcyclists were seriously injured after a Ford Mustang struck the riders near the intersection Ella and Spring Cypress, overnight.

Investigators with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office tell us that a group of 5 motorcycle riders were traveling eastbound on Spring Cypress. The riders came to a stop at the intersection after the light changed to red. A Ford Mustang that was also traveling eastbound, at a high rate of speed, failed to stop at the red light and struck three out of the 5 motorcyclists.

The Mustang continued through the intersection after striking the riders, crashing into a nearby traffic signal pole. The driver fled the scene on foot and failed to stop and render aid.

Three motorcyclists were transported to area hospitals in what deputies call serious but stable condition.

It is unknown if alcohol was involved.
