The Historic Wunsche Bros. Cafe & Saloon Will Reopen Fall 2019

Spring, Texas – April 16, 2019: Old Town Spring’s historic Wunsche Bros. Café & Saloon plans to reopen in the fall of 2019 according to a banner hung across the building’s front porch over the weekend.

Back in 2015, an electrical fire destroyed a large portion of the building while also leaving behind significant smoke damage to the rest of the interior.

The damage caused the restaurant to close down for several years.

A recent purchase made by the Kosh family in March 2017 has marked a reopening of the restaurant.

The restaurant’s reopening was delayed due to complications with the Texas Historical Commission, according to the Kosh family.

The building was sold under the condition that the new owners would preserve the original name, theme, and exterior.

The new owners, husband, and wife Casey and Nancy Kosh, also own Amerigo’s Grille, an Italian restaurant in The Woodlands.

The Wunsche Bros. Café & Saloon was originally erected in 1902 in present-day Old Town Spring. It was declared a historic landmark in 1984 by the state of Texas and has garnered a reputation for being a ‘haunted’ eatery.
