Harris County, Texas – December 22nd, 2015: Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman’s Office, High Tech Crimes Unit, coordinated a predator operation to identify and arrest individuals who would sexually prey on children within the boundaries of Harris County Precinct 4. The operation was conducted with assistance and cooperation from members of the Houston Metro Internet Crimes against Children Task Force, specifically; The Harris County Sheriff’s Office – High Tech Crimes Unit, Department of Homeland Security – Cyber Squad, Harris County District Attorney’s Office, The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office and the Houston Police Department.
The child predator operation was conducted using various social media outlets, during a 3 day period from Tuesday December 15, 2015 through Thursday December 17, 2015 in the suburban area of northwest Harris County. There were a total of (8) defendants arrested for conversing with persons whom they believed to be minor children. The suspects then traveled to a location where they expected to meet a child for the purposes of a prearranged sexual encounter. The suspects were all intercepted by Law Enforcement and subsequently arrested for the offense of Online Solicitation of a Minor. Suspect Savannah placed an ad on Craigslist.
The ad was answered by an undercover investigator from Constable Mark Herman’s Office. Defendant Savannah stated he wanted to have sex with the undercover officer’s juvenile daughter and agreed to pay money for the arranged sexual encounter. Defendant Savannah was provided a location and upon his arrival, he was intercepted by Law Enforcement and subsequently arrested for the offense of Online Solicitation to commit Human Trafficking of a Minor.

Constable Mark Herman’s Office will continue to support these types of collaborative efforts with local, state and federal agencies in order to seek out and apprehend those in our communities who intend to harm and/or sexually prey upon our children.
