Spring Central Hospital Employees’ Payroll Checks Returned Due To Insufficient Funds

Spring, Texas – December 23rd, 2015: Most Spring residents will be gathering with their families this Christmas to celebrate, some will not be so fortunate. Employees of Spring Central Hospital on Kuykendahl have been left without a job, and without a paycheck. The hospital, which opened it’s doors in late 2013, is officially closed. The statement on their website reads, “We would like to inform our valued patients that we will be closing Spring Central Hospital on December 9, 2015.”

The closure came after a recent Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing in October, followed by a Chapter 7 filing. Employees of Spring Central Hospital contacted Spring Happenings following the closure. Several employees reported that their payroll checks from December 4th, 2015 bounced. They are also left with unanswered questions on their retirement, 401k, and health benefits.

Dr. Mustapha Kibirige is part of the firm, K&S Consulting, that operates Spring Central Hospital, as well as several other surgical centers/hospitals in the Houston area. Spring Central Hospital employees who reached out to us expressed frustration with Dr. Kibirigie’s business practices, especially considering he is living in the Woodlands in a multimillion dollar home.

It is unclear as to what will happen to the building that now sits vacant, guarded by security. This unfortunate event has left families in our area in a tough situation this holiday season. Let’s hope that these employee’s get the compensation that they earned and are quickly able to find new jobs.
