UPDATE: The man who killed his estranged wife and shot his daughter outside a Church last night was found dead in a hotel room, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Confirms.

Officials tell us that 62-year-old Arthur Edigin shot and killed himself in a hotel room bathroom after a standoff with police. Edigin fired numerous rounds into a vehicle outside the Christ the Redeemer Church around 7:20 PM Thursday evening, killing his estranged wife and critically injuring his daughter.  Officials believe the shooting stemmed from a domestic dispute.

Deputies also confirmed that the Edigin’s 17-month-old granddaughter was in the car when the shooting occurred, luckily, she was not injured.

His daughter, identified as 31-year-old Penny Grace Edigin Zapata is recovering in the hospital but is expected to survive.

Houston, Texas – January 17, 2019: One person has been confirmed dead, a second shot at a Church near the intersection of Cypress N Houston and Huffmeister according to officials with HCSO.

The shooting happened at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church at 11507 Huffmeister Road.

Preliminary details indicated the suspect is not in custody.
