Spring, Texas – September 16, 2018: This week’s spotlighted business is the quaint little shop, On A Whim.

When business owner Jamie Jourgensen decided to leave the oil & gas industry, she had the desire to invest in something challenging yet enjoyable.

“We just decided one day to open a boutique,” Jourgensen said. “We opened our shop literally ‘on a whim’!”

In April 2015, On A Whim opened their first store at 211 1/2 Midway in Old Town Spring. Jourgenson said the original location was tucked away and not visible from the main road, so it was a challenge for the business to gain traffic instantly. However, she said it didn’t take long for the word to spread, resulting in a number of regular customers.

Since then, the business has expanded into two locations – the original converted into a baby and children’s boutique, and the second location consisting of boutique clothing, jewelry, gift items, home decor, and speciality foods.

The new location faces the main road and resides in an old house, built in 1908, which happens to be one of the oldest original buildings in Old Town Spring.

Jourgensen said the business provides a wide variety of diverse products and inventory – that is constantly changing daily – at affordable prices, and offers excellent customer service.

“We are your one stop shop for something unique,” Jourgensen said.

With the help of these attributes and its loyal customers, Jourgensen said the future of On A Whim is bright.
