Spring, Texas – February 13, 2019: A man is in critical condition after being shot during an attempted carjacking behind a Spring H-E-B Grocery Store.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched the the H-E-B Grocery Store located in the 20300 block of Champion Forest Drive around 7:30 PM Wednesday evening in reference to a shooting.
When deputies arrived they found a male bleeding profusely from the upper thigh with evidence of a gunshot wound. Deputies applied a tourniquet to assist in controlling the bleeding.
Allegedly, the victim was behind the HEB near the loading docks when he was approached by two white males in a white pickup truck. According to sources, the suspects attempted to carjack the victim but when the victim put up a fight, the suspects opened fire.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzales said that information related to this investigation is “sketchy and fragmented”.

The Sheriff said that while residents should be alert, there is no information to indicate an active threat to area residents.
The victim was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center and was listed in critical condition.
The investigation is on-going.
