8:02 PM UPDATE: The child has been located and is safe, according to officials.
Houston, Texas – March 8, 2019: Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office are searching for a missing 8-year-old boy that was last seen walking near Peakwood and Red Oak, in the vicinity the Houston Northwest Medical Center.
Officials say that the boy is African American and wearing black pants, a red collared shirt and carrying a backpack.
According to KTRK, the boy was riding in the car with his mother when he jumped out of the vehicle and ran into oncoming traffic.
A photo of the missing boy was not immediately available.
