Neighbors told KTRK that tension had been brewing between local kids over the past few weeks, and gunshots had rung out before, although nobody had been hit.

Around 6pm Monday evening a fight broke out between two groups of teens, the shooter pulled out a gun and began firing. Two innocent children playing street soccer were struck by flying bullets. The children ages 6 & 11 were both shot in the leg and were taken by ambulance to Texas Children’s Hospital. They are expected to be ok.

Two other juveniles, ages 15 & 16 were taken to local area hospitals for gunshot wounds; both in stable condition.

Officials tell us that nearly 10 people have been detained for questioning. Sources say that this may be gang related.
