Spring, Texas – May 21st, 2016: On 05/21/2016 at 12:26am, Harris County Constable Mark Herman’s office received a call in reference to a motor vehicle accident involving 3 fatalities.
Upon arriving, Deputy Constables immediately observed 3 individuals in one of the wrecked vehicles that were unconscious. Deputies immediately started CPR and first aid on one of the victims until emergency personnel arrived. Unfortunately all 3 victims died as a result of their injuries in the accident. It was later determined the victims were a Mother, Father, and their 18 year old son. (Names have not been released until notification of next of kin)
The driver of the other vehicle had fled on foot to a nearby shopping center. Once more deputy Constables arrived, they were able find the suspect, at which time, he resisted arrest, and deputies had to physically take the suspect into custody. The suspect was identified as Jeremy Valdez of Spring, Texas. Deputies could smell a strong odor of alcohol about his person and other tests were administered, in which Valdez failed.

Jeremy Valdez at the time of his arrest, also had a warrant out for his arrest for a prior Driving While Intoxicated charge.
Witnesses told investigators at the scene that Jeremy Valdez was driving at a high rate of speed and ran the red light at FM 2920 and Kuykendahl when he struck the family.
