Houston, Texas – March 5, 2019: A woman is recovering in the hospital after her boyfriend allegedly set her on fire at an apartment complex near Interstate 45 and FM 1960, Monday.
The incident occurred at the Palms at Cypress Stations Apartments around 6:00 AM, Monday morning.
Investigators with the Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office learned that the victim’s boyfriend, identified as 34-year-old Charles Mosley Jr. poured an ignitable liquid on her while she was in bed and set her to fire. A six-year-old child was in the apartment at the time of the fire but thankfully was not injured.
Charles Mosley Jr. (34) was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault of a family member with a deadly weapon.
The victim is listed in stable condition and is currently recovering at an area hospital.
“The District Attorney’s Office has accepted two counts of aggravated assault of a family member with a deadly weapon for this heinous crime,” said Harris County Fire Marshal Laurie L. Christensen. “Charles Mosley Jr. (DOB 1/15/1985) has been arrested and is booked in the Harris County Jail. We are thankful the victim survived and is doing as well as can be expected.”
