ESD #11 Hires PR Firm To Find Negative Comments About Them on Internet

ESD #11 signs a 15K per year contract with local public relations firm to find negative comments about the organization and elected officials on the internet.

Spring, Texas – August 8, 2018: The commissioners of Emergency Services District # 11 signed a nearly $15,000.00 per year contract to hire a public relations firm to find negative comments about the ESD on the internet.

ESD #11 is a board made up of five elected officials tasked with funding their contractor, Cypress Creek EMS, to provide 9-1-1 ambulance service to over  540,000 Spring residents.

It is no secret that ESD #11 and their contractor, Cypress Creek EMS are being investigated by the FBI for possible fraud. Officials with ESD #11 refuse to publicly acknowledge the fact they are being investigated, however, during a July meeting, one of the commissioners stated “all of my stuff is with the FBI” when asked about some particular documents. In February, the board voted to reimburse commissoners $13,000.00 in public funds for their personal criminal defense bills in connection to the FBI investigation. In addition, the board has paid out over $105,000.00 to five different law firms referencing the “grand jury investigation”. This of course, does not include the hundreds of thousands of dollars spent by CCEMS to fight the FBI and the Harris County District Attorney.

In March, commissioners signed a $15K per year contract with a a PR firm to “research and collate all negative/false comments made online about ESD11” and to “provide ESD11 with appropriate responses to any of the negative/false comments made about the organization or people within ESD11”.

In addition to the public relations contract, ESD #11 has paid out over $25,000.00 over the last 10 months for a new website and ESD logo.
