Drugs Blamed for Deadly Overnight Crash on Louetta

Spring, Texas – Accident Investigators say that drugs are to blame for a deadly overnight crash in Spring.
At approximately 10:00 PM Saturday evening, emergency officials responded to the 5000 block of Louetta Road in reference to a major crash.
It was later learned that a Ford pickup truck operated by a Spring couple was driving westbound on Louetta while a Infiniti coupe was driving eastbound. The Infiniti driven by Luke Ford of Conroe, failed to maintain lanes, crossed over the center turn lane and struck the pickup truck head-on.
Ford’s brother Zachary, was the passenger in the Infiniti. He was transported by helicopter to Memorial Herman Hospital in critical condition where he later pronounced dead.
Luke Ford was transported to an area hospital in serious condition where he underwent surgery.
The occupants of the pickup truck were taken to the hospital in stable condition for evaluation.
Accident Investigators with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office say that they suspect the at-fault driver, Luke Ford, was impaired by drugs at the time of the crash.
At the time this article was published, no charges had been filed.
