Spring, Texas – July 10th, 2017: The National Weather Service in League City has issued a Flood Advisory for… South central Montgomery County in southeastern Texas… North central Harris County in southeastern Texas… Until 1100 AM CDT.
At 10:01 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area. Up to two inches of rain have been measured in the past hour by multiple gauges. Localized rain of 2.5 inches in the past hour has also been observed.
Some locations that will experience flooding include… Southwestern Conroe, The Woodlands, Spring, Oak Ridge North, Shenandoah, Woodloch, Splashtown, The Woodlands Pavillion and Chateau Woods.
Recommended Actions: Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots. Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you can do so safely
