Spring, Texas – February 20th, 2018: Showers and thunderstorms are currently developing in northeastern Mexico. This activity is forecast to become a large complex of heavy storms tonight as it tracks northeastward across the State of Texas.
Starting early Wednesday morning, likely during your morning commute, rain will begin to fall across the Houston Metroplex. The majority of the rainfall will fall on Wednesday, however, rain chances will remain above 40% for the remainder of the week and into the weekend.
2-4 inches of rain, small hail, and gusty winds will be possible in the strongest storm cells. Some isolated areas will receive more than 4 inches of rain but that is dependent on where the storms set up. Isolated street flooding and ponding on the roadways is possible.
