16 Arrested In Widespread Undercover Prostitution Sting

Harris County, Texas – June 29th, 2017 (Harris County Precinct 4 Constables Office): After receiving complaints of widespread prostitution and many other crimes that are attributed to it from citizens in the FM 1960 and IH-45 area, Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman’s Office initiated an undercover police operation focusing on the males in the area who are creating a demand for the street level prostitution.

The male “Johns” or “purchasers” are the backbone of the need for prostitution on the streets of Harris County and are the driving force behind much of the demand for human trafficking.

As a result of the two-day operation, 16 males were arrested and charged with Prostitution. Several additional charges were filed including Unlawful Carrying a Weapon, and in addition, many of the suspects arrested had warrants out for their arrest.

Constable Mark Herman’s Office has taken a firm stance on identifying and assisting Human Trafficking victims and eradicating prostitution from the neighborhoods and business districts of Precinct 4.

“The areas targeted by Constable Investigators in this operation were in close proximity to schools, daycares, and churches.” – Constable Mark Herman.
