11-Year-Old Krimmel Student Dies After Collapsing at After School Football Event

Spring, Texas – We have confirmed with Klein ISD officials that the 11-year-old who collapsed at an after school football event has died.

On September 24, 2019, an 11-year-old child collapsed during a football event that was being held at Strack Intermediate School. The child became unresponsive and bystanders began to perform CPR.

The boy was transported to Texas Children’s Hospital in The Woodlands with CPR in progress. According to KHOU, the boy was reportedly breathing on his own at one point, but remained in the hospital.

The boy died in the hospital on Saturday. The 11-year-old was a student at Krimmel Intermediate School.

“We are deeply saddened by this news and extend our most sincere condolences to the Miles Family.” – Justin Elbert, Assistant Director of Communications – Klein ISD.

Klein ISD says that the football event was not affiliated with the district but was being held on the grounds of Strack Intermediate School.
